The close proximity of the competition venue, downtown hotels and the Competitors’ Village ensures WorldSkills participants can get where they’re going, quickly and safely. The competitors will have just a 15-minute LRT (Light Rail Transit) train ride from the Competitors’ Village to the competition venue at Stampede Park. Delegates, judges, experts and all other participants will have just a five-minute walk from downtown hotels, or a short ride on the LRT train system. Approximate commuting time in minutes:

The "Construction & Building Technology" category covers all the skilled areas that are related to the construction world. This encompasses everything from the foundation, grounds, building, finishing and maintaining of all sorts of buildings. The competition areas included in this area are: Wall and Floor Tiling, Plumbing, Electrical Installations, Industrial Control, Bricklaying, Stonemasonry, Painting & Decorating, Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Carpentry, Landscape Gardening, Refrigeration, Metal Roofing and Plastering.
