WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Ltd. is a not-for-profit organization established to plan and host the 40th WorldSkills Competition in September 2009.
The organization's mission is to engage the passion of our youth to pursue satisfying trades and technology career pathways that result in a motivated and highly skilled workforce.
WorldSkills Calgary 2009 Ltd. is led by a volunteer Board of Directors. A small, efficient Executive Office leads the organization through five main functions: Executive Branch, External, Operations, Finance, and People. Each of the operational areas is led by an experienced and seasoned Vice President. The Executive Office is responsible for the effective administration of the Strategic Plan, Business Plan, and Budget, as well as the portfolios of Government Relations, International Affairs and the relationship with WorldSkills International and Skills/Compétences Canada.
The offices of WorldSkills Calgary 2009 are located on SAIT Campus in the Senator Burns Building (1301 - 16 Avenue NW). |

Social & Personal Services
The "Social & Personal Services" category covers all the skilled areas that are related to the service industry. This encompasses services related to the food and beverage industry as well as the hospitality and personal care. The competition areas included in this area are: Ladies/Mens hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Confectioner/Pastry Cook, Cooking, Restaurant Service, Caring and Bakery.
